Do you repair appliances in Boca Raton?
Yes. Beaver Appliance is based in Pompano Beach and works in Boca Raton houses, condo units and gated communities, wherever the address is inside the city line.
Towers east, gates west
East of I-95 the city is condo towers and canal streets; west of it, lake and golf communities, some of them gated. A staffed tower’s rule book and a gated community’s show what a repair visit meets on each side.

Signing in
Every contractor registers at the tower’s front desk on the way in and checks out on the way out.
Weekday hours
In that tower, contractor work runs on weekdays, eight in the morning to half past four; a Saturday visit may be out.
Where the van goes
Service vehicles are sent to designated spaces in one of the tower’s lots. Ask the desk before the visit.
At the gate
In the gated community, the attendant writes up every guest: the date, the unit and how long they’ll stay.
Cleared ahead
Some associations want a contractor cleared days ahead. Ask yours, and tell us what it said when you book.
Send the sticker and the gate rules
Text a photo of the model sticker, and add what the gate or the front desk will ask of a visitor.

Boca Raton had about 97,000 residents at the 2020 Census, and its homes are split: about four in ten are detached houses and nearly as many sit in buildings of 20 or more units, by the Census Bureau’s count.
-
The lake communities
West city line to I-95
Curving streets around lakes and golf courses, with villa and condo clusters in between.
Landmark. Town Center at Boca Raton, the mall on Glades Road, sits inside the city line.
-
FAU and the middle
I-95 to Dixie Highway
The university and the airport, business parks around Congress Avenue, and older single-family streets south of Glades Road.
Campus. FAU’s first and largest campus has housing for more than 4,500 students.
-
Downtown and the canals
Dixie Highway to the Intracoastal
Mid-rise downtown around Mizner Park and Palmetto Park Road, then canal-front houses down to the Intracoastal and Lake Boca Raton.
Drawbridges. Three bridges cross to the beach on federal schedules; Palmetto Park Road’s opens for boats on the hour and half hour.
-
The island
A1A, Intracoastal to ocean
Condo towers along North and South Ocean Boulevard, on the city’s five miles of Atlantic coastline.
Beach parks. Spanish River, Red Reef and South Beach parks give the island two miles of lifeguarded beach.

Does Beaver Appliance cover all of Boca Raton, east and west of I-95?
Yes, the whole city: the A1A towers, downtown and the canal streets, the neighborhoods around FAU, and the lake and golf communities out to the western city line.
My mail says Boca Raton, but I live west of the city line. Can I still book?
Call or text and ask first. Our list names the City of Boca Raton, and plenty of homes with a Boca Raton mailing address are in unincorporated Palm Beach County instead; the Census Bureau’s address lookup shows which side a home is on.
Who has to repair the appliances inside a Boca Raton condo unit?
Your condo’s declaration and rules decide, so read them first. One Boca Raton association puts all repair inside a unit, appliances included, on the owner; even then, the building decides who comes in and when.
What does Boca Raton’s hurricane guide say to do with the refrigerator?
Set the refrigerator and freezer to their coldest settings during a hurricane watch and freeze jugs of water, says the city’s Be Prepared Boca guide. Afterward, don’t switch on appliances that are damp or wet, and have a qualified electrician check a flooded home’s wiring first.
How hard is Boca Raton’s tap water?
Moderately hard, at the soft end of the U.S. Geological Survey’s range. The city softens its well water at its Glades Road plant and lists it at 65 to 80 milligrams per liter, about four to five grains per gallon. KitchenAid ties cleaning a clear-ice machine as often as every nine months to water of 15 to 20 grains, so follow the interval in your own machine’s manual.
Which towns around Boca Raton are also on your list?
Delray Beach to the north and Deerfield Beach to the south, the two towns on our list that border Boca Raton. Highland Beach, the separate town to the northeast on the barrier island, isn’t on the list; if you live there, give us a call.
