Do you repair appliances in Lighthouse Point?
Yes. Beaver Appliance repairs refrigerators, built-ins and ice makers and cleans dryer vents in Lighthouse Point’s canal houses, townhouses and condo buildings, about 10 minutes from Pompano Beach City Hall with clear roads.
Houses on the water
The city counts 18 miles of waterways, and most of Lighthouse Point is built on canals dug in the fifties and sixties.

Salt air
The canals are tidal water off the Intracoastal, and no home here is more than about a mile and a quarter from the ocean. That is well inside the three miles or so where stainless steel picks up tea staining most, by the Australian industry body’s measure; the stain is cosmetic, and regular washing keeps it in check.
Evacuation
In a major hurricane, Broward County’s plan covers every home east of Federal Highway, which is all of Lighthouse Point. Check the county’s map for your address.
Power cuts
After Irma in 2017, nearly nine in ten of Florida Power & Light’s customers lost power, the utility reported. Before a storm, the USDA suggests a thermometer in both the refrigerator and the freezer.
Rebuilt kitchens
If your remodel or new house came with a built-in or column refrigerator, we repair those too, Sub-Zero included.

About 10,500 people lived in Lighthouse Point at the 2020 Census, and more than eight in ten of its homes were built before 1980, by the Census Bureau’s count.

Along Federal Highway
US 1, the city’s west edge
Shopping centers, car lots and offices on the highway, with small apartment, townhouse and condo buildings behind them.
Shopping. Venetian Isles and Beacon Light, the city’s two largest shopping centers, sit along this edge.
-
The inland streets
Interior lots, away from the water
One-story houses from the fifties and sixties on quiet streets, some remodeled and some replaced by bigger two-story houses.
Landmark. Dan Witt Park, six acres with lighted ball fields and courts, sits in the city’s northwest.
-
The canal streets
Waterfront lots on the canals
Houses backing onto deepwater finger canals, with seawalls and private docks.
On the water. Over half of the single-family lots reach the city’s waterways, and almost all of the frontage is seawalled, the city’s plan says.
-
The Intracoastal edge
The Intracoastal Waterway
Houses facing the Intracoastal and a few small condo buildings, then the open waterway.
Across the water. Hillsboro Beach, home of the lighthouse the city is named for, has no bridge from Lighthouse Point.

Do you cover every part of Lighthouse Point, even addresses that say Pompano Beach?
Yes, every part: the inland streets, the canal streets, the townhouses near Federal Highway and the houses on the Intracoastal. The city’s ZIP code carries the Pompano Beach postal name, so many addresses here read Pompano Beach, and both cities are on Beaver Appliance’s list.
Do you also cover Deerfield Beach and Hillsboro Beach?
Deerfield Beach, yes: it borders Lighthouse Point to the north and is on Beaver Appliance’s list, as is Pompano Beach to the west and south. Hillsboro Beach, across the Intracoastal, isn’t on the list; if you live there, give us a call.
I live out of town. Can I arrange a repair at my parents’ house in Lighthouse Point?
Yes, you can book by phone or text wherever you live. Lighthouse Point has the oldest population on our list, with about four in ten households headed by someone 65 or older, the Census Bureau says. Your parents see the repair price in writing before any work starts.
Can you repair appliances in a Lighthouse Point townhouse or condo building?
Yes. Most of the city’s townhouse, duplex and condo buildings sit near Federal Highway and the entry roads at Sample Road and NE 39th Street, and the zoning holds the multi-family ones to three stories. If your building has rules for contractors, tell us when you book.
Do you repair built-in refrigerators in Lighthouse Point’s rebuilt houses?
Yes, column models too, whether the maker is Sub-Zero, Thermador, Viking, Miele or Monogram. Many of the city’s fifties and sixties houses have been remodeled or replaced: from 2000 to 2008 alone, the city issued close to three hundred demolition permits, most to make way for much larger houses, its plan says.
