Everything else we repair

Booking for a parent, or from away

About three in ten households here are headed by someone 65 or older, and about six in ten in the condo band between Sample Road and Coconut Creek Parkway, the Census Bureau counts. This is how a repair works when someone else arranges it.

  • Book from anywhere

Call or text from wherever you live. You don’t need to be in Coconut Creek to set up the visit.

  • The price in writing

The repair price is put in writing before any work starts, so whoever is paying sees it first.

  • Nothing without a yes

No repair begins until it’s approved, and we do only the work approved, at the price approved.

Coconut Creek, north to south

The 2020 Census found about 58,000 people in Coconut Creek, and fewer than three in ten of its homes are detached houses.

  1. The north end

Hillsboro Boulevard down to the expressway

The newest and most mixed part: houses around lakes, a business park on Lyons Road and shops on State Road 7.

Crossing. The Sawgrass Expressway cuts across the city at the south edge of this part.

  2. The lake neighborhoods

    Sawgrass Expressway to Sample Road

Single-family streets around lakes, and apartment and townhouse complexes near Wiles Road, mostly from the nineties and 2000s.

Landmark. Tradewinds Park, a county park, sits on Sample Road.

  3. The middle

Sample Road to Coconut Creek Parkway

Townhouses and houses west of Lyons Road; east of it, a large loop of mid-rise condo buildings, mostly from the late seventies and eighties.

Landmark. Wynmoor, across Lyons Road from City Hall, calls itself “South Florida’s retirement community”: 5,260 units in 44 condo associations.

  4. The south end

Coconut Creek Parkway to Atlantic Boulevard

Older single-family streets and apartment complexes around a college campus and the high school.

Landmark. Broward College’s North Campus is here, and Fern Forest sits at the southern tip.

Do you cover all of Coconut Creek, from the county line down to Atlantic Boulevard?

Yes, the whole length of the city: the newer lake neighborhoods in the north, the townhouses and big condo communities in the middle, and the older streets near the college in the south.

Why does our ice or tap water taste of chlorine some weeks of the year?

Most likely the county’s free chlorination. Coconut Creek buys its water from Broward County, which switches its lines to free chlorine twice a year; the city says a chlorine taste or smell can show up then and takes about two weeks to clear afterward. South of Coconut Creek Parkway, the city points water customers to Margate instead.

I’m away for the summer. What happens to the food in my Coconut Creek refrigerator if a storm cuts the power?

It stays safe for up to four hours with the door closed, the USDA says, so arrange for someone to check the unit after a storm. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, NOAA says, and near the big retirement community about one home in five is held for seasonal use, by the Census Bureau’s count.

Do you clean dryer vents in Coconut Creek condo buildings?

Yes, in condo units as well as houses and townhouses; nearly three in ten Coconut Creek homes are in buildings of 20 or more units, by the Census Bureau’s count. In a condo we clean the unit’s own duct, from the dryer to where it leaves the unit, and check airflow before and after; a shared riser is the building’s.

Which of Coconut Creek’s neighbors are on your list?

All five cities that border it: Pompano Beach, where Beaver Appliance is based, and Deerfield Beach, Margate, Coral Springs and Parkland. To the north is unincorporated Palm Beach County, which isn’t on the list; if you live there, give us a call.
