What is your Samsung dishwasher doing?

A code on the display? Jump to the code table.

Dirty water left in the tub

First check: run the sink tap 30 seconds; if the sink won’t drain either, Samsung blames the home’s plumbing. Then reseat each filter part, since a loose one can cause drain errors.

Call us if the sink drains and the tub doesn’t.

Water on the kitchen floor

First check: wipe it up and run another cycle; if no water reappears, Samsung says it wasn’t a leak. Dishwasher detergent only, never dish soap.

Call us if it comes back, or the door seal looks damaged.

Won’t turn on or start

First check: the breaker, any wall switch, then Child Lock and Delay Start. Samsung says it drains about 35 seconds before filling.

Call us if it still won’t power on.

Food or film left on dishes

First check: scrape off big scraps, then the cycle, rinse aid and detergent dose; Samsung wants hot water at 120 to 149°F.

Call us if food is still left behind.

Wet dishes when it finishes

First check: rinse aid, which Samsung says dishes can’t dry without; then open the door an inch within an hour of the end.

Call us if a code shows too; without one, Samsung says service won’t help drying.

Door won’t close or latch

First check: after a cycle the AutoRelease rods stay out briefly; Samsung warns that shutting the door on them may damage it. Then check the racks, and that it sits level.

Call us if the latch’s spring and locking arm aren’t visible.

Samsung dishwasher error codes

Before you cut the power, photograph the code and the model label.

Samsung asks owners to troubleshoot before clearing a code, or the error can return. Letters shift, too: 1E by model, and CE and bE mean other things on its washers.

Code What Samsung says it means First check, then
LC LE

Leak sensor found moisture; it drains and won’t switch off

Wipe up any water; find where it came from.

5C SC 5E SE

Drain error: it can’t drain

The sink first, then the filter and the drain hose.

OC 0C oE

More water in the tub than there should be

The same checks as 5C.

4C 4E

Water supply error: not the pressure or heat it needs

Supply valve fully open; Samsung asks for 20 to 120 psi.

3E

The incoming water is too hot

The water heater setting: Samsung’s limit against burns is 149°F.

1E IE

Clogged filter or heater error Depends on the model

Clean the fine filter at the bottom; then breaker off 30 seconds and an empty Normal cycle.

7E 7C

Reflector error Rarely needs service

A pot handle, big knife or ladle in its way; on a new one, packing tape.

HE HC tE 9E

Heater, temperature sensor or low water level error

Empty it, add detergent, run Normal; if it returns, call us.

3C CE

Pump operation or communication error

Off, on, restart; back again, call us.

bE 6E

The panel senses a stuck button

Touch each button on the panel.

PC PE

Zone Wash or half-load function error

Restart the cycle; back again, call us.

AP

Access Point mode Not a fault

One text: the code and the label

Open the door: the label sits on its inner rim or the tub’s edge.

Samsung dishwasher questions

What does LC mean on a Samsung dishwasher?

Samsung’s code list calls LC, or LE, a leakage error: the leak sensor has picked up moisture, so the dishwasher turns on, tries to drain and won’t turn off until the moisture is gone. With no visible leak, Samsung points to the supply hose, a disposal cap left in after an install, or detergent damp enough to trip the sensor. Breaker off, then give it time to dry; if LC returns, text us.

Why is the Normal light blinking on my Samsung dishwasher?

On models without a display, lights stand in for codes, but Samsung counts them only if the dishwasher misbehaves, say by stopping mid-cycle. Blinking Normal is the leak sensor; Heavy is the same, or too much water on Express 60 models.

Does a Samsung dishwasher have a reset button?

No. Samsung says its dishwashers can’t be reset; turning the circuit breaker off and on clears errors and minor issues. A code that comes back still has a cause.

What does Samsung’s dishwasher warranty cover?

On current models, one year of parts and labor, plus five years of parts, without labor, on the control board, the racks, and the stainless tub and door liner against leaks. Older models differ. Samsung may deny a claim for damage from third-party repair, so use Samsung while covered; after that, you choose.

Why does my Samsung dishwasher smell?

Samsung’s list: clean the filter, spray nozzles and door seal, run an empty cleaning cycle, check the sink drain or disposal; no bleach in a stainless tub. If it washes well despite the odor, Samsung says service won’t fix it.
