Is Brandon a city?
No. Brandon has no city hall or city government of its own: it’s unincorporated Hillsborough County, and the Census Bureau counts it as a Census designated place. We cover all of it.
My address says Valrico, Seffner or Riverview. Is that still Brandon?
It may be. About a third of the house lots inside the Brandon Census area carry another town’s name, and even the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, with its Valrico address, stands inside it. Inside Brandon we come out whatever your mail says; from farther out, call or text and ask.
Is the tap water in Brandon hard?
Only the western edge has a published figure: its City of Tampa water averaged about 12 grains of hardness per gallon in 2025, very hard by the USGS scale. The county publishes none for the South-Central water most of Brandon drinks, and its water quality reports page finds your system by address.
