What is your Samsung washer doing?

Showing a code? Start with the code table.

Won’t drain: water left in the drum

First check: the drain hose, Samsung’s usual cause, then a front-loader’s pump filter, after an hour for hot water to cool.

Call us if a test cycle still won’t drain.

Clothes come out soaking wet

First check: drainage, since a washer that can’t drain never spins; then untangle the load.

Call us if it won’t spin in calibration mode.

Water on the floor

First check: each hose at both ends, then the door seal; Samsung says one hair can let water past it.

Call us if it drips with the door shut. Above the ground floor, Samsung’s install guide requires a drip pan.

Shakes, bangs or walks

First check: shipping bolts on a new front-loader, then level it, rocking each corner and adjusting the legs.

Call us if it still shakes once it’s level.

The door won’t unlock

First check: a front-loader stays locked with water inside; once hot water has had an hour to cool, drain it through the emergency hose by the pump filter.

Call us if it stays locked with Child Lock off.

A musty or sewage smell

First check: run Self Clean empty and wipe the seal; Samsung says a sewage smell means the drain hose sits too deep.

Call us if it smells burnt after its first couple of cycles.

Samsung washer codes

Photograph the display and the model label before you switch it off and on.

Samsung says a reset erases the code history a technician needs, and some codes change meaning with the model.

Samsung washer questions

Didn’t see yours? Call (754) 285-8880 Text the code

What does 4C mean on a Samsung washer?

Samsung calls 4C, 4E or nF a not-filling error: water isn’t entering the washer correctly. Open both water valves fully and make sure neither hose is kinked; if it still won’t fill, text us the code and the model label.

What does dC mean on a Samsung washer?

A door error on some Samsung models and an unbalanced load on others, Samsung’s US code list says. If it keeps coming back, a photo of your model number settles which.

How do I reset a Samsung washer showing a code?

Power-cycle it: off for two to three minutes, on, then restart the cycle. If the code returns, Samsung advises against clearing it again: a reset deletes the error history used in diagnosis.

Is my Samsung washer still under warranty?

Samsung covers parts and labor for a year from purchase. On washers bought from April 1, 2026, a ten-year term covers the Digital Inverter Motor only, with the receipt; older washers’ motor terms vary by model. It says a claim may be denied if damage results from third-party repair, so covered work goes through Samsung. Out of warranty, the repairer is your choice.

Is my Samsung top-loader part of a recall?

Top-loaders in the WA49B, WA50B, WA51A, WA52A, WA54A and WA55A series, sold June 2021 to December 2022, can overheat, says CPSC’s notice; the serial number decides. CPSC says to stop using it until the free software update is in: a washer online over Wi-Fi downloads it; otherwise, ask Samsung for a free dongle.
